5. Enter a name for the new database.
Enter a meaningful name for the database. This becomes the
name of the folder that contains the data. (The file name can
contain up to 255 characters, including spaces. It cannot contain
any of the following characters:
\ / : * ?

< > |
6. Enter the file path, or browse to a folder in which to store
the database.
If you are indexing files on a mounted Jaz cartridge, you could
actually save the database on the Jaz cartridge. (For information,
see “Indexing removable media” later in this chapter.)
7. Define the directories that are to be included in the
database.
•
Click the Directories button. This displays the Select
Directories and Files dialog box (Figure 4–63, next page).
•
Click the checkbox of the drive(s) to be indexed.
•
If you want to index only specific folders on a drive, click the
plus (+) sign next to the drive name to view the list of folders.
By default, all folders are selected on the selected drive.
Uncheck the folders you wish to exclude from the database.
•
When you finish selecting directories and files, click OK.
