Attach to Search Database command
The Attach to Search Database command enables you to connect
to a Pagis search database on a networked file server.
When you select this command, the Attach Search Database dialog
box is displayed (Figure 4–61). Enter the name of the database you
want to attach. This is the folder name that contains all the
database information (the name assigned when the database was
first created). Enter the path or browse to the network drive that
contains the remote database.
Note
The remote system must already be a shared volume in your local
file system. Please see “Sharing search databases in a networked
environment” later in this chapter for more information.
Now, when you use the Search Tool to search for documents, the
Search Tool will search through all of the databases listed in your
Search Database Manager.
Note that you will not be able to update or delete a remote
database.
