The number pad closes and the new value displays in the Page Frames Per Patch
field.
10. To set Color Patch Printing at Start Up for the Front Side and Back Side of the
paper, select from the options in the drop-down menus:
• Print Patch (Default value)
• Do Not Print Patch
11. If you are printing duplex, select the Tandem (ROF) Mark sub-tab.
This tab lets you adjust the default registration mark printed by the primary / upstream
CiPress
™
and used by the secondary / downstream CiPress
™
to register the images.
The area on the right of the screen shows a green checkmark for the selected paper
when the mark will print correctly. If you see an x (
), instead of a green checkmark
(
), it means the location of the mark needs to be adjusted so it does not print over
holes on pinfed paper.
12. At the bottom right of the screen, use the Paper Display drop-down menu to select,
one at a time, all the papers that will use this application definition. For each one,
confirm that the ROF mark is correctly positioned by verifying that a green checkmark
displays when you select the paper.
13. If a paper selected for use with this application shows an incorrect placement (
),
use the Tandem X Location and Tandem Y Location menus to adjust the default
position for the mark.
14. The Print Page ID Marks in Job check box, on the bottom left of the screen, enables
the primary / upstream CiPress
™
to lay down page marks. The secondary / downstream
CiPress
™
uses those page marks to check that each back-side image is placed correctly
behind the right front-side image. The default for the Print Page ID Marks in Job
check box is selected (check mark in check box) and should generally be left selected,
especially for transactional printing.
15. When you are finished setting values, select the Save icon.
The Save Definition window opens.
16. Select the Enter Name field.
The Value window opens.
17. Type or select the name for the new application definition.
Note
The name of the new application definition can be a maximum of 16 characters
including spaces. Remember to use a descriptive name that will be understood by all
operators.
18. Select Enter.
