Maintenance: Initial Set-up

6. Attach gauge JT05473 (5) to the saw bar travel port (4);
ensure the gauge is visible from the operator’s seat.
7. Start the carrier and operate the saw function.
IMPORTANT: Be aware that the saw motor will be
damaged; only operate the saw function during
the test. If the saw motor
is
damaged, you
must repair or replace it as required.
8. Ensure the saw bar travel pressure is within
specification.
Specification
Saw bar travel pressure ............................................ 5 000—5 500 kPa
50—55 bar
725—800 psi
9. Shut down the carrier.
CAUTION: As the felling head can move or
function unexpectedly, you should always make
sure the carrier is completely shut down, with
the felling head placed securely on flat, level
ground. Failing to follow this process can
increase the risk of serious injury or death.
10. Remove the gauge (5).

11. Re-install the fitting (2) and hose (3).
12. Re-install the saw cover (1).
Adjust the saw bar travel limiter
1. The length of saw bar travel limiter (A) is pre-set to
specification.

2. Loosen the nuts (3) on the limiter.
3. Increase or decrease the length of the saw bar travel
limiter, setting it to within specification. Increasing this
length will increase the size of the saw bar’s swing;
reducing this length will decrease the size of the saw
bar swing.

4. Re-tighten the nuts (3).
