Keep in mind that the Voice Allocation option is
always available on all three Timbre mode pages.
Tap on the pop-up menu button to make your desired
setting:
•
16 Voices: Analog Preferred
: When playing with a
low voice count of 8 voices maximum, only analog filter
voices are used. Only when these are fully in use, the
next voices play the sound with the digital filters.
•
16 Voices: Round Robin
: First, the 8 analog filter
voices are playing, then the 8 digital filter voices, then
again the 8 analog voices and so on.
•
16 Voices: Alternating
: Analog and digital filter voices
are used alternately, so always an analog voice sounds,
then a digital one and so on.
•
8 Voices: Analog Only
: Only the 8 analog filter voices
can be used. This reduces the maximum polyphony to 8
voices.
•
16 Voices: Digital Only
: Only 16 digital filter voices
are used. The analog filter section will not sound.
Timbre Mode
Quantum offers three different modes for the Sound lay-
ers:
•
Single
: both Sound layers have individual settings and
cannot be played together. You can switch between
two layers by tapping on the
Layer 1
or
Layer 2
but-
ton in the touchscreen display.
•
Split
: Layer 1 and Layer 2 use a dedicated keyboard
range for playing. A typical situation is that a bass
sound is played in the lower range of the keyboard
while a lead sound is played in the upper range. Use
the
Voices
and
Min Key/Max Key
parameters of both
Layers to set the desired keyboard ranges for the split
sounds.
•
Layered
: both Sound layers are played simultaneously
over the whole keyboard range. Use this option to
combine two sounds, such as a pad sound and a poly
lead.

Depending on the selected Timbre mode, the display
representation may differ.
