Using the Optional Alarm Kit
(Surv99-ACL)
This optional Alarm Kit consists of a Termination
Box and RJ-45 Cable. It is used to assist in using
connector J2, an RJ-45 socket on the Power
Supply/Communication Board. Connector J2
provides access to the 4 alarm inputs. The RJ-45
Cable has one male end, which plugs directly into
connector J2, and open wires on the other, which
connect to the Termination Box. Since the RJ-45
cable is 8 feet (2.4 m), the Termination Box must
be mounted within the vicinity of the Surveyor99.
Use of this kit is similar to the Accessory Kit.
The Termination Box provides a convenient
connection from open wires to open wires. After
the cable is passed through the Cable Fitting
(ceiling-mounted Surveyor99 only), connect it to
Termination Box’s terminals.
When the cover of the Termination Box is
removed, the pre-wired terminal block will
resemble Figure 35. Feed the Control Cable into
the side and connect each wire to the appropriate
screws. Do the same with the cable from the
Surveyor99. Figure 35 is shown wired for a typical
Surveyor99 using ALARM 1 and ALARM 2.
