Installation
Installation is a simple process. Choose the installation type based on the specific unit purchased. All
mounting hardware is provided for the three possible installation types.
Quick Installation
For experienced installers, follow these steps for fast installation.
In-Ceiling Mount Model (no
ceiling access provided)
Use this method to quickly install, wire and
configure an In-Ceiling Mount Model when
there is no access to work above the
ceiling. Refer to Figure 3.
1. Cut a 7-3/8-inch (187 mm ) diameter
hole in ceiling. Feed Flexible Conduit
Pipe or cables through hole.
2. Remove Camera Drive from
Enclosure by loosening 3 Captive
Screws.
3. If cables are used without Flexible
Conduit Pipe:
a) Remove Enclosure Top Cover
and Conduit Fitting. Install Strain
Relief Fitting and re-install Top
Cover.
b) Hold Enclosure up to ceiling and
route approximately 9 inches (229
mm) of cables through Strain
Relief Fitting. Tighten 2 Strain
Relief Fitting screws.
3. If Flexible Conduit Pipe is used:
a) Hold Enclosure up to ceiling and
route 9 inches (229 mm) of
Conduit cables through Conduit
Fitting.
b) Insert end of Flexible Conduit
Pipe into Conduit Fitting and
tighten clamp screw.
4. Lift Enclosure up, snap into ceiling
hole, and tighten Ceiling Clip Screws.
5. Connect Camera Drive to the
Enclosure’s Safety Cord.
6. Cut and terminate all cables. Cables
should be just long enough to reach
connectors [approximately 8 inches (203 mm)]. Install all connectors into their mating connectors at
correct locations as shown in Figure 4. Do not apply power yet! If necessary, check wiring against data in
Table 1 of Wiring Section.
7. Configure Surveyor99 communication and address DIP Switches. See Figure 4 or Table 2.
