XX002 Rev 799 Surveyor99 Dome System
Using the Accessory Kit’s
Termination Box and RJ-45 Cable
for Wiring
The Termination Box and RJ-45 Cable are
provided to assist in using connector J3.
Connector J3 is required to access the internal
relay and is an alternate connector for access to
the Surveyor99’s control signals. The RJ-45 Cable
has two male ends which plug directly into
connector J3 and the Termination Box. Since the
RJ-45 cable is 8 feet (2.4 m), the Termination Box
must be mounted within the vicinity of the
Surveyor99.
The Termination Box provides a convenient
adapter from the RJ-45 connector to individual
wires. After the cable is passed through the Cable
Fitting (ceiling-mounted Surveyor99 only), connect
it to Termination Box’s jack.
When the cover of the Termination Box is
removed, the pre-wired terminal block will
resemble Figure 31. Feed the Control Cable into
one of the sides and connect each wire to the
appropriate screws. Figure 31 is shown wired for
typical Surveyor99 duplex operation with no relay.
NOTE: Upon initial installation of a ceiling-mounted
Surveyor99, it is recommended to pass
this RJ-45 Connector through the fitting
first. After this, the remaining connectors
that do not fit through the fitting must be
cut off and terminated later.
NOTE: Use only the supplied Vicon RJ-45 cable or
shielded equivalent.
Recommended Use of the Termination
Box with Flexible Conduit
If it is necessary to keep the control cable within
Flexible Conduit, it will be necessary to obtain a
Break Out Box. The Termination Box is then
mounted inside it and can have Flexible Conduit
run to it from both sides, as shown in Figure 32.
This method maintains a Flexible Conduit cover
over all cables and provides secure mounting of
the Termination Box.
