It should be remembered that the batteries suitable for the electrical
demands of a caravan differ in design from those for use with a car, and
whilst the system may operate with a car battery it is strongly
recommended that only a leisure type battery is used.
The battery should be kept topped up at all times.
(See respective manufactures instructions for details).
Do not charge your leisure battery with any charger other than that
supplied. Failure to comply may cause damage to your battery.
If you remove your leisure battery, ensure that it is not placed on a cold
surface as the battery will deteriorate more rapidly than if stored at a
suitable temperature.
Battery Installation:
The outside lockable battery compartment is situated on the offside outer
wall, and is only accessible from outside of the Caravan.
A venting system is provided to isolate charging fumes from entering the
Caravan.
Under normal circumstances it should not be necessary to remove the
battery other than for routine inspection of terminals and 'topping up'.
Important: Before connection of the battery the 13 pin connector should be
removed from the towing vehicle, the Mains Unit should be switched off
and the mains lead removed from the Caravan socket.
Unlock and open battery compartment door.
Remove battery tray and place on floor.
This tray should be fitted at all times.
