Your Caravan Registration Document will include a 17 character VIN
(Vehicle Identification Number), shown in the top right hand corner. This 17
character VIN will be die stamped into the Caravan windows.
To protect yourself and your Caravan, never leave the Registration
Document in your Caravan. For security reasons keep it in a safe place at
home.
When you sell your Caravan you should complete the Notification of Sale or
Transfer section to the new keeper or dealer.
CRIS will record the change of keeper details on the national database.
If you do not receive a Caravan Registration Document, lose it, or any details
recorded are incorrect, please contact CRIS on 01722 411430 or at the
address at the rear of this handbook.
Remember CRIS never actually gives out the VIN or Keeper Details to callers,
it will only confirm the details that callers provide.
If your Caravan is stolen report it immediately to CRIS. as well as the police,
and your insurance company.
Other markings by security pen in places only known by you can also be
made so identification can be made easier.
