On the road if you do find your outfit snaking, try to keep the steering
wheel in a central position as far as possible, decelerate and avoid
braking if possible.
Care in Cross Winds:
Be prepared!
Your caravan/car combination can be 'interfered with' by bow waves
from large overtaking vehicles.
Towing on gradients:
When climbing, up to a 10% loss of power should be expected for every
1,000 metres gained in height. A good reserve of power is necessary for
towing up gradients at altitude.
When travelling uphill, change gear in good time. If your car is running
short of power or behind a slower vehicle, keep well into the nearside
and out of the way of other vehicles.
When going downhill, take extra care to ensure your outfit does not
gain speed.
