Secure all bunks (if appropriate).
g)
Store the main dining table in its transit position.
h)
Set the refrigerator for 12V operation if any fresh food is stored in
it and ensure the door is locked.
i)
Fully close and lock all windows and roof lights. Never tow with
windows on night setting.
j)
Leave all curtains and blinds open to prevent damage in transit. If
your Caravan has a rear window this may aid rear view visibility.
External Loading & Checks;
a)
Gas cylinders should only be stored, correctly positioned, and
secured in the gas bottle locker. The gas should be turned off.
b)
The leisure battery is stored and secured in the battery locker box,
set into the tray provided and secured.
c)
Any external connections (battery chargers, connecting cables etc.)
should be disconnected and stowed.
d)
Check that all exterior locker doors are secured and locked.
e)
Secure and lock the caravan entrance door.
Pre Tow Check List & Hitch up:
Having loaded your Caravan and secured the lockers and main entrance
door:
a)
Check Caravan wheel bolts are torque tightened to the required
level (See Index - Changing a Wheel).
b)
Check tyre pressures (Refer to the Tyre pressure Table) and tyre
condition for roadworthiness.
c)
Ensure the jockey wheel is down, in good contact with the ground,
clamp tightly secured, and the Caravan handbrake is fully on.
