Fitting of additional Stabiliser:
The AKS 3004 is fitted as standard. You should not fit a blade or any other
type of stabiliser along with an AKS 3004.
In the event of fitting a stabiliser a clamp on type of arrangement is
recommended. Drilling the chassis to fit a stabiliser assembly should never
be attempted without prior approval of Vanmaster or chassis manufacturers
AL-KO.
Breakaway Cable Fixing Points:
It is important to understand the function of this cable and to ensure it is
correctly attached to tow your vehicle.
The purpose of the breakaway cable is to apply the Caravans brakes if it
becomes separated from the towing vehicle. Having done this, the cable
assembly is designed to part allowing the Caravan to come to a halt away
from the towing vehicle.
For the emergency brake to work correctly, it is absolutely essential that the
following points are observed:
a)
The breakaway must run through the breakaway guide.
b)
The breakaway cable must not be wrapped around the jockey
wheel, as this disables the emergency brake.
c)
The cable must run a straight as possible and not be restricted.
d)
Ensure the cable is long enough to allow for covering and will not
become taut or snag during use as this could result in the
handbrake operating whilst towing.
