Information: Caravan driving courses are run by various organisations e.g.
Caravan & Camping Club, Caravan Club.
Wheel Clamps
It is strongly recommended whenever your Caravan is left unattended the
wheels should be locked using a good quality approved wheel clamp.
Some insurance companies insist that wheel clamps be used.
There is no British Standard for wheel clamps and, in the absence of such, a
choice should be made taking into account the following:
a)
Ease of use.
b)
Strength against unauthorised removal.
c)
Cost
All Vanmaster Caravans are fitted as standard with the AL-KO wheel lock
receiver. The wheel lock assembly is available as an optional extra.
Note: It is recommended that all security devices should have been tested
and approved by an appropriate body, e.g. Sold Secure.
Servicing
A Caravan is a road vehicle and, therefore, requires regular servicing at least
annually with particular attention to the equipment such as the braking
system, wheels and tyres, road lighting and internal gas and electrical
appliances.
The maintenance requirements are covered in this handbook and should be
carried out during normal servicing by Vanmaster Caravans or a reputable
caravan specialist workshop.
