2.2.16 Find Home.
The Home position is a reference point used by the SmartScan unit to define
a starting position for the pan, tilt, and zoom functions. The "Find Home"
function should be performed upon power-up of the unit to orient the
SmartScan unit to a reference point prior to programming or performing any
PreShots, VectorScans, etc.
A SmartScan unit must be able to find its home position to program
PreShots, VectorScans, and Sector IDs. The SmartScan unit cannot find
home if the pan, tilt, or zoom feedback connections are not functioning.
If the "Find Home" function is not performed upon power-up and an operator
tries to send the unit to a PreShot, the SmartScan Unit will find home first
and then perform the PreShot. If the Find Home function has not been
performed and the operator tries to program the unit; the SmartScan unit will
find home before proceeding with the programming menus.
To send a SmartScan unit to its "Home" position, call it up on the
controller as the primary control camera.
