management. As with previous versions of LDCM, v.3.3 provides
DMI 2.0 support, extensive hardware and software inventory
recognition capabilities, critical system file editing capabilities,
configuration snapshots and remote file transfer. LDCM v.3.3 is
designed to support Windows 98.
Additionally, Toshiba has added specific notebook enhancements
for the Tecra 8000 Series computer to LDCM. As a result, the end
user or IT technician has available:

Power management status and settings
❖
Docking status
❖
CPU temperature status
❖
Extensive BIOS setup capabilities (available 4Q98)
❖
Password setting status (available 4Q98)
A LANDesk Client Manager User’s Guide, which describes in
detail how to use LDCM, has been provided with your Tecra 8000
Series computer.
Asset management
Inventory management
Accurate asset management is a requirement for corporate
customers working in a network environment. Corporate IT
personnel must be able to correctly and efficiently identify which
hardware and software components make up the IT system
infrastructure in order to accurately evaluate the existing inventory
and determine what modifications or upgrades may be necessary.
Detailed reporting is also a necessity, identifying components such
as BIOS version, O/S or software application version, memory
capacity and hard disk size and availability. Additionally, IT
