Toshiba has combined these options into preset power usage
modes. Using one of these modes lets you choose between
maximum power savings and peak system performance. You may
also set individual power-saving options to suit your own needs.
The following sections describe how to choose a power usage
mode and discuss each power-saving option.
The easy way—choosing a power usage mode in Windows
95 and Windows 98
Go to
Start
,
Settings
,
Control Panel
. Click on the Power icon.
Multiple options can be set in the Power Schemes and Toshiba
Power Extensions tabs.
If you are working in MS-DOS
®
, you may also set the power
usage mode in TSETUP. For more information, see “Using
TSETUP” on page 153.
Using a hot key to set the power usage mode
To use a hot key to set a high or low power usage mode, follow
these steps:

Press
Fn
and
F2
simultaneously to display the power usage
pop-up window.

While continuing to press
Fn
, press
F2
until you select the
desired power usage mode.

Release the
Fn
key.
You’re now in the selected mode.
