(2) Changing Engine Filters and Oil

WARNING
Wear personal protective equipment.
Injection Hazard.
Fluid escaping under pressure can penetrate skin and result in death or serious injury.
Relieve pressure before disconnecting hydraulic lines.
Stay clear of leaks and pin holes. Use a piece of cardboard or wood to search for leaks. Do not
use hand.
Fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours by a doctor familiar with
this type of injury, or gangrene will result.
NOTICE
Always dispose of filter elements in a safe manner.
(a) Changing the Engine Oil Filter
NOTICE
Change the engine oil when changing the oil filters.
When installing the oil filter, make sure that the gasket does not get caught at the rim. This could
cause oil leakage.
Any dirt on the drain plub should be wiped off before installing it.
After replacement is completed, test run the engine and confirm that there is no oil leakage from
the area around the filter.
PROCEDURE
1. Observe all safety warnings.
2. Shut down the machine and implement the lockout and tag out procedure.
3. Screw off the engine oil filter housing (Item 2) in an anticlockwise direction.
