(3) Cooling System Maintenance

WARNING
Burn Hazard
Hot coolant can cause serious burns. To open the coolant system, stop the engine and wait until
the system has cooled.
Remove the filler cap slowly to relieve any pressure that can still exist in the system.
Toxic Hazard
Consumption of ethylene glycol can be fatal or cause serious injury. If ingested seek medical
advice immediately.

For, more details of approved engine coolant and coolant levels refer your local engine
manufacturer.
(a) Checking Engine Coolant Level
PROCEDURE
1. Observe all safety warnings.
2. Shut down the machine and implement the lockout and tag out procedure.
3. Check that the coolant level is between the “FULL” and “LOW” marks on the reserve tank.
4. If the coolant level is lower than the “LOW” mark, replenish the reserve tank through the
filler port.
5. If the reserve tank is empty, replenish through the radiator filler port.
6. Top up level as necessary.
7. Replace the radiator cap.
8. Remove the lockout and tag out.
