SECTION 3 – STUDIO INTERFACE: DETAILED CONFIGURATION & REFERENCE
Subnet
This is your subnet mask. The subnet mask is to determine the size of your “local”
network. All packets addressed to a destination outside this “local” area are sent to the
gateway node entered in the next selection. Therefore the same subnet should be used for
the Series 2101 Hub and all Studio Interfaces.
Just as with the IP address, the Subnet mask is a series of 4 numbers separated by
periods. Enter the numbers using the dial pad. Both # and * will give you a period. This is
a numeric-only field; enter the digits as described above. As usual, the
5
key will
backspace if you make a mistake or need to delete an old entry.
Gateway
This is the IP address of a gateway router connecting you to the internet. It is an IP
address just as with the previous two items and is entered in the same way. You will need
to get this from your network administrator or internet service provider. This is a
numeric-only field; enter the digits as described above.
DNS IP
This is the IP address of the DNS (Domain Name Server) you will be using. It is an IP
address just as with the previous items and is entered in the same way. You will need to
get this from your network administrator or internet service provider.
