Installing, Removing, and Replacing
a. With the I/E station door open, open the left door (the access door) of the module and pull the
door toward you in order to access the slot located in the lower left corner of the module. (The

slot.)
b. Install the left rack ear in the same manner as the right rack ear.
c. Using two M5 thumbscrews, fasten the rack ear to the rack. The thumbscrews should fasten
completely and evenly.
9

Cabling the Library
on page 84.

Adding, Removing, and Replacing Tape Drives
The tape drive enables you to connect the library to servers within your storage area network (SAN).
Note
You may need to pull the door toward you in order to access the slot.
Note
Newly added tape drives need to be installed and verified one at a time.
Alternatively, all of the tape drives can be added to the drive bays at one time
with no wait time between adding tape drives.
