- Before turning on the cab air-conditioner, turn on the fan. Whenever the air-conditioner is turned
on, the fan should also be turned on. Do not expose the air conditioner to any open fire or flame.
Should there occur a leakage, remember the refrigerant gas may turn lethal. Do not smoke inside
the cab.
- The maintenance of the air conditioner must be made in an open and ventilated environment. The
refrigerant fluid can never be exposed to temperatures above 40 C.
- When changing a tire or adjusting an wheel axle, place the machine on firm and leveled terrain,
turn the engine off and apply the parking brake. Preferably with an empty tank, lift the machine with
the aid of hydraulic jack (supplied with the machine). For safety assurances, as an addition to the
jack, place pads or a stand able to withstand the weight of the machine.
- In case of a punctured tire, first deflate the tire and then remove the object that caused the
puncture. The mounting/dismounting of the tire should be done by a qualified professional. After
removing the tire, do not try to support it if it gets out of control. Respect the calibration
recommended by the tire manufacturer.
- Any damage or change in wheel alignment, may cause the tire to explode. Therefore, dismount
the tire before making any type of repairs to the rim.
- Never weld on the machine, before removing all battery cables.
- Project changes, modifications, or adaptations on the machine may affect its useful life, and
cancel the warranty, therefore, these changes or modifications may only be done with the
expressed permission of the STARA company.
1.2 - Safety precautions when transporting, and machine operation
- This machine was designed with special characteristics such as being extra wide, thus it is not
allowed to travel on public roads or highways. Should it necessitate to access the public roads or
highways, consult with the local transit authorities, and then follow the local laws as required.
- Boarding the machine, use only the non-skid ladder.
- Keep the steps, handrails and catwalk always free of oil or grease residues, which may cause
accidents.
- Do not eat, drink, or smoke during operations.
- The equipment expels toxic fumes, which may cause asphyxiation, therefore, never operate the
machine in closed environments (ex.: hangar). If there is no other alternative, keep doors and
windows open for ventilation, use appropriated mask, and should there be any signs of ill state, exit
immediately and seek clean air to breath.
- Verify that the machine is in perfect working conditions, along with these items such as: oil levels,
radiator water level, fuel, etc. In the event of any irregularities, which may interfere in the operation of
equipment, perform any corrective maintenance before the operation or transportation.
- Using the control panel, verify that operations and systems functions are in perfect working
condition.
- The operator can only drive the machine when properly seated and accommodated in cab.
- Do not allow additional people on the machine, only the operator. Do not pickup hitch-hikers.
- Take care when maneuvering the machine, thus avoiding crashing the booms into obstacles.
- Do not operate or drive the equipment drunk, doped, or under effect of tranquilizers or stimulants.
- Before driving the machine, release the parking brake and verify that the fold-up ladder has been
collected.
