Gear box 2nd speed adjustment:
The scale calculation procedure is the same as was done on the 1st speed, but before
initiating the calculations, devide the desired flow-rate of kg/ha by 2.
For example, if the operator desires to distribute 600kg/ha of a product, dividing this value
by 2, obtaining a flow-rate of 300kg/ha, being that this is the initial value on the scale.
14 - FLOW-RATE CALCULATIONS USING THE TRAYS
The rules when using trays to calculate is of extreme importance, before initiating any
product dispersion. By understanding the density variables, granularity and other product
characteristics, will directly affect its distribution uniformity, and consequently in reaching the scales
of each product. This way, even if using pre-defined equipment adjustment charts, it is still possible
to have some form of error factors. To be assured that the adjustments are correct, confer the flow-
rates using the tray method.
14.1 - Objective
Adjust for the necessary application flow-rates of any product using kg/ha, adjusting the
scale band and the required overlap for a uniform application.
14.2 - Required material
Weight scale;
Tape measure;
8 trays with internal grills(0.5x0.5m);
Collection vessel.
14.3 - Procedure
Firstly, adjust the floodgate opening or the product dispersion of the machine, the collected
values or the calculation scale, to begin the process of adjustment to within the closest possible
rates, facilitating the process. Also the product application row needs to be defined, being that this
row is compatible with the maximum application for the product (example: limestone can go up to
maximums of 14m). When using application discs 18-24 or 24-36 it is important to consult the
chart and verify the adjustment procedures of the vanes on the discs, to proceed with the tray
collection.
On the Hércules 5.0 line, when using the cardan system to activate the discs, the
acceleration of the tractor should be avoided, regardless of the gear used in the application, it is
necessary that the PTO reach 540 rpm. The angular speed(rotation) of the discs, should be
observed so that product application is not compromised.
