2. User Features
2.1 Alarm
FUNCTION 92 (ON) FUNCTION *92 (OFF)
This feature allows a station user to enable an alarm
clock at his keyset. Upon reaching the programmed
time (input in 24-hour mode) the system will issue a
repeated ring alert to the extension and display an
alarm notification message. The alarm may be set up
for one time use only or for repeated occurrence each
day at the programmed time.
N
OTES
• Only one alarm per extension can be pro-
grammed at a time.
• The Protegé® business and business with dis-
play keysets ring when the time programmed
is reached, even if the keyset is not idle.
• Business with display keysets will have a
visual display when the alarm time is reached.
• The alarm rings for 60 seconds.
2.2 Auto Answer
FUNCTION 6*
This feature allows a keyset user to be automatically
connected to a ringing call simply by lifting the
handset or pressing the speaker key. With this fea-
ture disabled the extension user must select the fea-
ture key associated with the ringing intercom or line
call to be connected.
N
OTES
• Auto Answer cannot be programmed on a sin-
gle line telephone.
• If Auto Answer is disabled, the user must
press the flashing ICM or line key to answer a
call. Going off-hook will access the ICM or idle
line programming found in "Auto Line Selec-
tion."
2.3 Automatic Hold
FUNCTION 94
When a call (either incoming or outgoing) is in
progress, pressing the ICM key, a feature key or
another line key will put the current call on system
hold. The station user chooses whether to use this
function. Note, digits must be dialed on an outgoing
call for this function to work.
N
OTES
• User cannot "toggle" between two intercom
calls using the Automatic Hold feature.
• Line calls are placed on System Hold when
Automatic Hold is used. The lamp indication
will be the same as System Hold.
• A feature key programmed with Automatic
Hold will be solid red when the feature is
enabled.
2.4 Automatic Line Selection
FUNCTION 95 (ON) FUNCTION *95 (OFF)
The system automatically chooses an ICM link, any
idle line, specific prime line, or idle line in specific
line group for a station user when that extension
goes off hook or presses the Speaker key. The incom-
ing ringing line/ICM call has a higher priority than
idle line/ICM to be picked up.
N
OTES
• Lines that are programmed for Auto Line
Selection cannot be programmed as "Empty"
or the extension will receive a warning
tone/message when it goes off-hook.
• If Automatic Line Selection is set to ICM,
"Voice Call" and "Auto Answer" are disabled,
the user must press the flashing ICM or out-
side line key to answer a call. Going off-hook
will access the ICM.
• If Automatic Line Selection is set to Line at an
extension, then any call that was held or
parked on that line, by any extension, will be
accessed when that extension goes off-hook.
2.5 Busy Ring
FUNCTION #2 (TOGGLE)
This feature allows each station user to enable or dis-
able ringing at his phone while in a busy state. If dis-
abled, while the user is busy on one call, additional
calls will not ring at his phone. Visual indication of
additional calls will still be presented on feature keys
and the LCD.
At default Busy Ring is enabled for all extensions.
2.6 Callback
FUNCTION 91 (ON) FUNCTION *91 (OFF)
When an intercom call is placed to a busy extension,
the calling extension can request a callback and hang
up. When the busy extension goes on-hook, the
extension that requested callback is signaled for 30
seconds. If the calling extension goes off-hook, the
system automatically places an intercom call to the
now idle extension.
N
OTES
• An extension can either enable a callback or
reply to a callback to only one extension at a
time.
• A Business keyset with display that does not
answer a callback during ringing will receive a
message on the LCD.
• Callback starts when both the calling and
called parties are on-hook.
