6.2.7 H: Object Name
You can limit a report to a single object or group of objects. Enter a valid object name
or an asterisk (
*
) to include all objects.
Note that unnamed processes are recorded as
$-----
in the audit report.
To select the objects you would like to include in the report, select H :
Selection? H
Enter Object Names separated by commas.
A leading * on an Object Name will match any Object Names that
contain the specified string. A trailing * will match any
Object Names that start with the specified string.
The NOT keyword can be used: <Object Name list> NOT <Object Name list>
Object <*>?

If you put an asterisk (
*
) in front of a string representing an object name, XDP will
include any object groups containing the string you have entered in the report.
Example 1a:
OBJECT NAME:*$DATAA.QA finds all Object Names containing $DATAA.QA
If you put an asterisk (
*
) at the end of a string representing an object name, XDP will
include any object names that begin with the string you have entered in the report.
Example 1b:
OBJECT NAME:$DATAA* finds all Object Names starting with $DATAA
If you enter a string without either a leading or trailing asterisk (
*
), then XDP will only
include object names that exactly match the string you have entered as in 1c below.
Example 1c:
OBJECT NAME:$DATAA.QA.TEST
finds only the Object Name $DATAA.QA.TEST
You can also exclude specific object name by using the NOT Statements. The NOT
Statements must follow the initial wild carded selection. For example, if you want to
report on the activities of all files in the subvolume
$dataa.qa
except
$dataa.qa.test
, you would enter:
$dataa.qa* not $dataa.qa.test
You can exclude multiple OBJECTs by entering the OBJECTs separated by commas.
