Voltage previously allowed the creation of encryption formats that were defined 
“locally”; that is, the settings for the encryption format were placed into the associated 

*meth

 file. Voltage has deprecated this functionality, and because of this, XYPRO 

suggests that locally defined encryption formats not be created or used. Many of the 
settings in the 

*meth

 file exist only to support locally defined encryption formats. 

Support for the 

*meth

 files will be removed in a future release of XYGATEDP because 

of the deprecation of these formats by Voltage. 

2.5 

Configure for Non-PAN Data Encryption 

This section explains the configuration details for Non-PAN data encryption. 

1. 

Create an encryption method on the Voltage Console suitable for the encryption to 
be done. Refer to the Voltage manual for more information. 

2. 

Configure the DPCONF file for the ENCRMETHOD keyword. 

Syntax: 

ENCRMETHOD VOLTNPD <dpacl-format-name> CONFIG_FORMAT "<voltage-console-
encryption-method>" 

Example: 

ENCRMETHOD VOLTNPD SSNFORMT  CONFIG_FORMAT "XYSSN" 

3. 

Configure the DPACL file as follows: 

a. 

For Enscribe: 

Follow the FIELD keyword (part of the FILEDEF keyword) with the encryption 
method and field position.
