Chapter 4. Setting up Tokenization in
XDP
XYGATE Data Protection supports Voltage Secure Stateless Tokenization (SST)
technology as an encryption method. Several configuration steps must be performed
prior to using Voltage SST technology in XDP.
Users performing the tasks described in this chapter must have a valid login to the
Voltage SecureData Management console to be able to access the Voltage
configuration application, and also have a valid login ID to the NonStop system to
allow them access to the edit files mentioned below.
4.1
Configuring and Enabling SST on the Voltage Console
Enabling tokenization for XDP begins on the Voltage SecureData Management
console. Instructions for enabling and configuring tokenization support can be found in
the
Voltage SecureData Administrator Guide
in the “Data Protection Settings
Overview” section.
Once you have configured and enabled SST on the Voltage SecureData Management
console and you have created the field-encryption formats that you wish to use in your
application, you are ready to configure XDP to use the SST technology.
4.2
Enabling Voltage SST in XDP
Enabling tokenization on the Voltage SecureData Management console will produce a
very large data file that must be uploaded from the Voltage SecureData Management
console to the HPE NonStop system. The same upload process must be followed
whenever the SST key is rolled on the Voltage console. Follow the steps below to
obtain and install the file on the NonStop system.
1.
Login to the SecureData Application via SSH as root. The default SSH port is
10022.
2.
Change the current directory to the console
/bin
directory by entering:
cd /opt/vsmgmt/console/bin/
3.
Execute one of these commands to enable, disable or view tokenization status:
a.
To enable tokenization, enter:
./enable_feature.sh tokenization
b.
To disable tokenization, enter:
./disable_feature.sh tokenization
