Chapter 3. Running Your XDP
Application
After configuring the DPCONF and DPACL files and starting XDP as described in
Chapter 2, you have to install the XDP library to your object program. When you have
completed this step, you can then run your application as described below.
3.1
Install the XDP Library
Before running your application, you have to install the XDP library into your object
program. The
macro, described in Appendix C13: on page 106,
performs this task.
When installing the XDP library into an application, one of the following messages can
be returned:
•
The macro in the application Init file doesn't match the value in
the template application Init file
.
•
The install location in the application Init file doesn't match
the value in the template application Init file
.
Note the following about the two above messages:
•
The “application Init file” is <application-loc>.DPCONFAP.
•
The “template application Init file” is <xygatedp-loc>.DPCONFAP.
•
The “macro” is the value to the right of the keyword “macro_name” in each of these
files.
•
The “install location” refers to the XYGATEDP installation location.
The XDP library cannot be installed in the application if the macro or installation
location values in the macro do not match those same values in the
this condition is detected during the library installation, the above error message will
appear and the library installation will not be performed.
A Sample Problem Scenario:
An attempt is being made to install the XDP library into an application where:
•
The XYGATEDP installation location is different from the value used when the
XDP library was previously installed into an application residing in this same
application location,
– or –
