WARNING
Before beginning any service work, turn the PTO
off, set the parking brake, turn the ignition switch
off, and remove the key. Disconnect the spark
plug wire (on gas engine models only), and
disconnect the negative battery cable.
Hood Removal
1. Turn the ignition key switch to the OFF position,
remove the key, set the parking brake, and turn the
PTO off.
2. Remove the mower deck and any other accessories.
3. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable
(see Section 7, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SERVICE).
4. Tilt the hood forward and disconnect the headlight
wire harness plug (F, Figure 3).
5. Remove the retaining hardware (C) and hooks (D)
that are securing the hood hinge rod (E). The retain-
ing hardware can be accessed from under the front of
the hood, just behind the front bumper.
6. Lift the hood and hinge assembly up and off of the
tractor. Set the hood back down on a level and clean
surface.
Hood Installation
1. Turn the ignition key switch to the OFF position,
remove the key, set the parking brake, and turn the
PTO off.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable
(see Section 7, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SERVICE).
3. Set the hood and hinge assembly down and onto the
tractor.
4. Reinstall the retaining hardware (C, Figure 3) and
hooks (D) that secure the hood hinge rod (E).
5. Tilt the hood forward and reconnect the headlight
wire harness plug (F).
6. Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable
(see Section 7, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SERVICE).
