14. Remove the hardware securing the two-speed control
rod (C, Figure 6), and remove the two-speed control
rod and lower rod (D) from the right side of the
transaxle.
15. Using an overhead hoist, raise the tractor. Place jack-
stands under the left and right frame member.
16. Remove the hardware securing the drawbar to the
bottom of each axle housing (C, Figure 5), and
remove the drawbar.
17. Center a floor jack under the transaxle assembly, and
raise it to support the weight of the transaxle, without
lifting the tractor. Remove the capscrew (A, Figure 5)
securing the front of the transaxle assembly to the
frame crossmember (B).
18. Remove both rear wheel and tire assemblies.
19. Remove two capscrews, (A, Figure 6) from each side
of the transaxle assembly, securing the transaxle
assembly to the frame brackets (B).
20. Remove the capscrew (F, Figure 7) securing the
drive shaft to the hydrostatic pump.
21. Slowly pull the transaxle assembly to the rear, until
the drive shaft (A) disengages from the Hydrostatic
Unit input shaft.
22. Remove four capscrews (B) with lockwashers (C),
and spacers (D) securing the Hydrostatic Unit (E) to
the transaxle. Pull the Hydrostatic Unit toward the
front, until it clears the transaxle, and lift to remove it
from the tractor.
23. Continue to pull the transaxle assembly to the rear,
until it completely clears the tractor frame.
