Differential Lock Pedal Service
9 - 12
Important Note: DO NOT adjust the cable so tight
as to remove all cable slack. This will partially
engage the differential lock and damage the
transmission.

REMOVAL
NOTE: For easier access, the left rear wheel may be
removed if desired.
NOTE: Some models will not have the spring that con-
nects to the pivot bracket.
1. Remove and retain the capscrew and locknut (A,
Figure 15) from the plunger and clevis (B). Remove
the clevis from the cable and retain the clevis.
2. Remove the nut (C) securing the cable to the frame.
3. Disconnect the cable (A, Figure 16) from the adjust-
ment bracket (B).
4. Remove the cable (A) from the pivot bracket (C).
5. Cut the wire tie (D) securing the hydraulic hose (E).
6. Remove and retain the snap-ring (F) and washer
from the pivot shaft.
7. Remove the pivot bracket (C) and pedal cap (G)
assembly.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the new pedal cap (G) on the pivot bracket (C).
This is a friction fit and will require some effort.
2. Clean the pivot shaft and lubricate with lithium grease.
3. Install the pivot bracket (C) on the pivot shaft.
Secure with the washer and snap-ring (F).
4. Install the clevis (B, Figure 15) on the cable.
5. Connect the cable to the pivot bracket (C, Figure 16)
and the diff. lock plunger of the transmission using
the capscrew and locknut (A, Figure 15).
6. Secure the cable to the frame using the nut (C).
7. Attach the cable (A, Figure 16) to the frame and
adjustment bracket (B).
8. Loosen the adjustment nuts (H) so that the cable is
slack and the pivot bracket (C) drops down.
9. Tighten the cable until the pivot bracket (C) just
touches the upstop (I). There
MUST
be some slack
in the cable.
10. Locate the transmission hydraulic hose (E) under the
left rear wheel well. (This is the hydraulic hose exit-
ing the left front side of the hydro pump.)
11. Route the hose along the top of the frame as shown
in Figure 16).
12. Using the long plastic wire tie provided (D), secure
the hydraulic hose (E) to the pivot bracket (C) as
shown. (Be careful to route the plastic tie OUTSIDE
of the differential cable so that it does not bind this
cable. DO NOT route the tie between the cable and
frame.)
