Component
Description
Communication mod‐
ule
A communication module is used to integrate the RF identification system in
controllers/automation systems.
Reader
The reader ensures inductive communication and power supply to the trans‐
ponder, and handles the connection to the various controllers (e.g. SIMATIC S7)
through the communication module (e.g. SIMATIC RF186C).
Transponder
The transponder stores all data relevant for production and is used, for example,
instead of barcode.
