Configuring a LAN

Setting up dynamic IP address assignment (DHCP)
You must configure a unique IP address for every BizIP 410 telephone. A
DHCP
server is integrated in the BizIP AD 20 to relieve you of this work
and to help you maintain an overview in the event of changes in the
HiPath BizIP network.
Using an integrated DHCP service
You have three different options:
•
DHCP Server
You use the integrated DHCP service of BizIP AD 20 (recommended,
standard).
•
DHCP Relay
You use an external, possibly already existing DHCP server (not an in-
ternal DHCP service).
•
No DHCP Service
You deactivate the DHCP service. In this case, the IP data of all devices
must be administered manually
Æ
Page 51.
Data required
•
When using an external DHCP server: IP address of the server.
•
When using the integrated DHCP service if a fixed IP address is re-
quired:
– A freely available IP address.
– The network name of the device with a fixed IP address.
– The MAC address of the device with a fixed IP address.
Only make changes here if the use of this configuration would result
in conflict with other network components. Otherwise, you should
leave this configuration unchanged.
