Start-up
The self test is followed by the screen showing the
ventilation mode and parameters last set. The
device is in standby mode.
Checking readiness for operation
This test must be conducted every time before the
device is put into operation.
The checklist on page 58 can be copied for docu-
mentation purposes.
z Tick off the test items in the copied checklist
after a test item has been completed success-
fully.
The following functions are checked:
– Operation of LEDs, displays and alarm tone
– Upper alarm limit for Paw
– Disconnect alarm
– Apnoea ventilation
– Mains power failure alarm
Connecting test lung
The test lung consists of a mask manifold for con-
necting, a catheter nozzle with a diameter of 7 mm
for simulating the resistance of airways and a
2 L breathing bag 84 03 201 for simulating lung
compliance.
z Connect the mask manifold to the patient port.
CAUTION
Use the device only if all tests have been com-
pleted successfully.
