AutoRamp
Ramp setting has 2 options
– Time setting: The steepness of the pressure
rise from the PEEP level to the inspiration pres-
sure level can be even more closely adapted to
the needs of the patient in all ventilation mode
except CPAP.
– Auto setting: Carina automatically calculates
the optimum value from the registered breath-
ing rate.
Non-spontaneous breathing patient
Device does not detect any trigger effort due to the
non-spontaneous situation on patient.
Carina is delivering the flow producing the shape of
sine-curve pattern. The aim of sine curve is to dem-
onstrate a normal breathing pattern.
Triggered breathing
Device will detect an effort of patient breath. Flow
delivery will be faster than the situation described
above.
Ramp time is automatically defined by the device
which is 70 % of the average inspiratory time of the
patient.
