Instructions for Use Carina SW 3.n

Improve displayed accuracy of the
charging capacity of the internal
battery

If the internal indication accuracy is not reliable
enough the following message will appear:

Battery indication not reliable !

Improving the display accuracy:

Connect power cable. The internal battery is
charging, the LED

flashes.

Charge internal battery completely, the LED

remains illuminated.

Disconnect the power cable from the unit. Con-
nect test lung and operate the Carina in manda-
tory ventilation mode (VC-SIMV, PC-AC or
PC-BIPAP) until the battery is completely dis-
charged. The LED

is no longer illuminated.

Carina stops ventilation.
Do not interrupt the discharging process!

Set the mains switch to off »

Reconnect the power cable. The internal bat-
tery is charging, the LED

flashes. Charge

internal battery completely (at least 4 hours),
the LED

remains continually illuminated.

Do not interrupt the charging process!

If there is still no improvement, call DrägerService.

NOTE

If charging and discharging cycles are incom-
plete, the charging capacity of the internal battery
may be displayed inaccurately.
