Preparation
Internal battery
If the external power supply (mains/external bat-
tery) should fail, Carina automatically switches over
to supply from the internal battery.
If the battery is fully charged, ventilation can be per-
formed reliably for approx. 60 minutes without any
external power supply (assuming average ventila-
tion parameters and normal ambient conditions).
A completely discharged battery can be fully
charged within a charging time of approx. 2 hours.

The LED
lights up.
WARNING
Before transporting the device within the
clinic check that the internal battery is suffi-
ciently charged. Otherwise the correct func-
tioning of the Carina may be compromised.
CAUTION
Recharge the battery if it has not been used for a
lengthy period! Refer to "Maintenance of the inter-
nal battery" on page 110.
NOTE
If charging and discharging cycles are incomplete,
the charge capacity of the internal battery maybe
displayed inaccurately.
