MV high !! The minute volume has
exceeded the upper alarm
limit. Check condition of patient,
check ventilation pattern, cor-
rect alarm limit if necessary.
Leakage in breathing system. Ensure that breathing system
is leak-proof.
Device malfunction. Disconnect the patient from
Carina and continue ventilation
immediately using a different,
separate ventilator.
Call DrägerService.
MV low !!! The lower alarm limit for minute
volume has been exceeded. Check condition of patient,
check ventilation pattern, cor-
rect alarm limit if necessary.
Leakage in breathing system. Ensure that breathing system
is leak-proof.
Device malfunction. Disconnect the patient from
Carina and continue ventilation
using a different, separate ven-
tilator.
Call DrägerService.

calibration failed. Call DrägerService.
Rescue Ventilation
(in log book »Rescue Ventila-
tion !!!«) !!! The device has a technical
problem and switches to emer-
gency operation. Ventilation is
not optimal. Make sure there is a free sup-
ply of air to the inlet filter.
Remove any obstructions (for-
eign bodies, kinked hoses)
from the hose connections and
hose system.
Use a replacement device.
Call DrägerService.
Pilot line disconnected !!! A connection of the pilot hose
has become detached. (Only
for a system with an expiratory
valve) No ventilation is possi-
ble! Make sure the pilot hose is
secure at both ends.
Check to avoid huge leakage.

Check the setting for VT.
Set standby to shut-off !! Impermissible attempt to
switch off the device at the
main switch during ventilation. Terminate ventilation first, then
switch off the device.
