Preparation
Connecting a respiratory gas
humidifier
WARNING
Install a water trap when using a respiratory
gas humidifier. Otherwise the flow inside of
the hoses can be blocked by condensed
water.
WARNING
Place the device and the respiratory gas
humidifier on a stable, firm surface. Otherwise
the humidifier might fall.
WARNING
Do not use a patient filter when using a respi-
ratory gas humidifier. Risk of high resistance
in hose system, which could lead to
hypoventilation.
WARNING
Only use distilled water for the respiratory gas
humidifier. Risk of infection of the airways.
WARNING
When using a respiratory gas humidifier, do
not use a heat and moisture exchanger (HME)
at the same time! Risk of increased breathing
resistance because of condensation.
WARNING
Use the F&P MR 810 respiratory gas humidi-
fier only in conjunction with the »Mask/NIV«
application method, as the apparatus is only
approved for non-invasive ventilation and for
flows >5 L/min. Observe the humidifier’s
Instructions for Use. Risk of injury to the
patient due to insufficient humidification dur-
ing invasive ventilation.
