(2) Inspection
Refer to the operation circuit in the figure on the
right to check for continuity between the marked
areas.
If there is no continuity, replace the switch.
7) Brake safety switch (38520 1410)
(1) Installation location and operation
The brake switch is installed on the bottom
right side of the step.
When the brake pedal is pressed, the rod in the
switch is pulled out. This allows electricity to
flow, and the engine can be started.
(2) Removing the switch
1. Remove the battery (-) terminal.
2. Remove the spring from the switch.
3. Remove the switch connector from the main
harness.
4. Remove the adjustment nuts, and then
remove the switch.
(3) Inspection
1. Connect a tester to the switch connector.
(See the figure on the right.)
2. Check that there is no continuity while the rod
is in the switch.
* Be aware that making changes to the
adjustment nuts on the switch can result in
the rod being pulled out and allowing
continuity. This will result in the engine
starting even if the brake pedal is not
pressed.
(Check this condition when making
adjustments.)
