1) Turn the stepped side of the bearing holder to the front (timing gear case side), and assemble so that the bearing
holder with the cutting mark is in the center.
2) Assemble so that the bearing holder in which the thrust washer is inserted is located on the flywheel side.
3) Assemble so that metals with oil grooves are on top, and those without oil grooves are on bottom.
8. Crankshaft bearings
1) Inspect the bearing (bush), and replace it if it
shows signs of peeling, melting, burnout, or poor
contact.
2) Measure in directions A and B at locations 1 and 2,
as shown in the figure on the right, and then
calculate the difference (oil clearance) with the
maximum value for the crankshaft journal.
3) If the result of the inspection shows that the oil
clearance exceeds the usage limit, replace the
bearing (bush).
