Trouble Cause Solution
Defective key switch Repair the connections and contacts.
Insufficiently charged/discharged battery Charge the battery.
No fuel Add fuel.
Air in the fuel system Repair the area where there is air in the fuel.
Clogged fuel filter Replace the fuel filter.
Irregular/defective fuel supply
Damaged injection pump; contact the specified
factory or a qualified technician for repairs.
Defective glow plug Replace the glow plug.
Inadequate lubricant viscosity Inspect and/or replace the lubricant.
Clogged air cleaner Clean or replace the air cleaner.
Engine does not start.
No compression Inspect and repair related parts.
Air in the fuel system Purge the air from the fuel.
Irregular fuel injection
Damaged injection pump; contact the specified
factory or a qualified technician for repairs.
Clogged fuel filter Replace the fuel filter.
Defective governor Inspect and adjust the governor.
Engine speed is irregular.
Defective engine Inspect and repair related parts.
No fuel in the fuel tank Add fuel.
Clogged fuel filter Replace the fuel filter.
Air in the fuel system Repair the area where there is air in the fuel.
Engine stops while
running.
Defective engine Inspect and repair related parts.
Insufficient coolant
Add coolant, and inspect/repair for water
leakage in each part.
Loose or slipping fan belt
Clean away oil and dirt, and tighten the slack in
the belt.
Clogged radiator Clean the radiator.
Clogged radiator fin Clean the radiator fin.
Coolant channel clogged with dirt, water
deposits, etc.
Clean the coolant channel.
Defective thermostat Inspect and/or replace the thermostat.
Insufficient lubricant Add lubricant.
Engine overheats.
Overload Reduce the load.
Too much engine oil Inspect and provide a proper amount of oil.
Low engine oil viscosity Inspect and replace the engine oil.
Irregular engine exhaust
color (white or blue)
Incorrect injection timing Adjust because the timing is too slow.
