In the overboard discharge position, the waste exits the boat
through a large thru-hull fitting located on the side of the
hull. Selecting overboard will only pump the waste from the
toilet directly overboard, this will not pump out the holding
tank.
In the holding tank position, the waste is pumped directly
into the holding tank where it remains until it is pumped out
by a waste dumping station.
Note:
In many areas it is illegal to flush head waste di-
rectly overboard. Violation of these pollution laws
can result in fines or imprisonment. Always know
the law for the areas in which you boat. Never
dump head or holding tank waste overboard ille-
gally.
Holding Tank
The holding tank is located in the bilge area. When the tank
is full it must either be pumped out by an approved waste
dumping station through the waste deck fitting.
Maintenance
The head should be cleaned and inspected for leaks regularly.
The holding tank should be pumped out and flushed as needed.
Periodically add chemical to the holding tank to help control
odor and to chemically break down the waste. See the head
manufacturer owner’s manual for additional operating and
maintenance information.
Important:
The head system must be properly win-
terized before winter lay-up. Please re-
fer to the Seasonal Maintenance chapter
and the manufacturer owner's manual for
winterizing instructions.
10.3 Cuddy Cabin and V-Berth
(Abaco)
The cabin is equipped with storage, a V-berth and a head.
Daylight and fresh air is provided to this area by the cabin
door, opening port windows and an overhead opening deck
hatch. Additional lighting is provided by 12-volt lights above
the rear of the V-berth and near the cabin door.
The seat cushion above the head is hinged and can be raised
to use the head. Always keep the cushion in the down posi-
tion whenever the head is not being used. An opening hatch
in the V-berth forward of the head provides access to a large
storage compartment. There is also storage shelves on each
side of the V-berth.
The optional stereo and a storage compartment is in the rear
cabin bulkhead
