Aftermarket T-top
If an after market T-top is installed, it must be designed with
four legs that are bolted to the cockpit sole near the front and
rear sides of the center console. The cockpit floor is designed
to support the T-top leg bases in these areas. Both front and
rear legs should also have brackets that are thru bolted to the
console to provide additional stiffening for the T-top. Avoid
a T-top that is designed to mount only on the center console
because it will cause excessive flexing to the console and cock-
pit sole which will result in stress cracks and fractures in the
fiberglass. If you have any questions about installing a T-top
on your boat, please contact your dealer or Scout Customer
Service.
An improperly designed or installed fabrication can cause
structural damage to the deck structure and void the Scout
Boats Limited Warranty. Additionally, Scout Boats will not
be responsible for any damage resulting from the installation
of a fabrication not installed at the Scout factory. If you in-
tend to install an after market T-top on your boat, please con-
tact your dealer or Scout Customer Service.
Refer to the Routine Maintenance section for more informa-
tion on maintaining aluminum fabrications and precautions
for adding additional equipment and fasteners.
9.6 Cockpit Features Dorado
Helm and Electronics Locker
The tilt helm and engine controls are located on the helm
station. The engine gauges and a lockable storage compart-
ment are forward of the helm and molded-in electronics stor-
age and a drink holder is located to starboard. The drink
holder in the helm drains to the cockpit sole. An extra fuse
holder and ground buss are provided make it easier to add 12-
volt accessories and electronics.
The throttle and shift control is on the starboard side of the
cockpit next to the helm. There is also a storage compartment
and tackle locker just aft of the throttle and shift control.
The back of the helm station is accessed through a door for
the storage compartment just forward of the helm. This hatch
provides access to service the helm equipment or to install
electronics.
The washdown hose is located on the port side of the helm
and there is a recessed 12-volt courtesy light on the side near
the cockpit sole. The light is activated by a switch in the
helm switch panel.
Head and Storage Compartment
A large storage compartment and the head is located forward
of the passenger seat. A door secured with a cam lock pro-
vides access to the compartment. The door could be dam-
aged or hurt a passenger by the motion of the boat if it is
allowed to swing free. It should be in the closed position
and latched whenever the boat is underway.

ily and can chip. Refer to the Routine Maintenance chapter
for information on the proper care and maintenance of acrylic
plastic glass.
The compartment is designed to store dunnage and to accom-
modate the porta potti or marine toilet options. It is equipped
with a light that is activated by a switch at the helm.

MOTION OR IN ROUGH WATER CONDITIONS.
