Stern Cooler and Livewell
The stern cooler is located in the stern on the starboard side
of the cockpit. The hatch is held closed by an automatic fric-
tion latch. The cooler is insulated and drained by gravity to a
thru-hull fitting in the hull side. Always make sure the hatch
is properly closed before operating the boat and clean the
cooler after each use.
The livewell is located on the port side of the cockpit. The
hatch is held closed by an automatic friction latch. The
Livewell is insulated and drained by gravity to a thru-hull
fitting in the hull side. It is supplied sea water by a pump
located in the stern bilge and an overflow in the side of the
livewell automatically controls the water level. Always make
sure the hatch is properly closed before operating the boat
and clean and flush the livewell with fresh water after each
use. Refer to the Raw Water Systems chapter for more infor-
mation on the operation of the livewell.
Stern Jump Seats
Jump seats are located on each side of the cockpit just for-
ward of the cooler and Livewell. The bottom cushions are
hinged to provide access to an insulated storage compartment/
cooler below each seat. The compartments drain by gravity
to a thru-hull fitting in the hull side. Always make sure the
drain plug is in the fitting and secure when using the com-
partment for dry storage.
There is a grab rail just forward of each seat that provides a
handhold for passengers.
Stern Bilge Access
There is a round inspection hatch on the front of the splash-
well and an access hatch in the cockpit sole, just forward of
the splashwell that provide access to the fuel filter, aft bilge
pump, automatic switch for the bilge pump, and other equip-
ment mounted in the stern bilge. In certain conditions these
hatches can allow sea water to enter the bilge if they are open.
Always make sure these hatches are closed and secure before
operating the boat.
Wave Gate/Stern Seat (Optional on Sportfish)
The seat cushion and backrest is hinged and can be folded to
provide clearance for the engine when it is tilted to the full up
position or to provide access to the stern of the boat. The
backrest is also a wave gate and should always be folded down
before tilting the engine and returned to the up position be-
fore operating the boat above idle speed. Never leave the tran-
som access open when the boat is underway.
The bottom seat cushion is mounted to a slotted hinge that
allows it to drop in front of the stern seat base where it is
secure and to allow the backrest to fold down. It can also be
removed.
