19.2 File Types
There are three types of files that are stored in different directories.
The file types are:
Log Files
:
•
Optical Calibration
-- at the end of every optical calibration routine, a
screenshot of the result is saved as a .png file.

Continuity Test
– at the end of every continuity test, a screenshot of the result
is saved as a .png file.
•
Main Screen
– at the end of every run, or if a run is stopped, a screenshot of
the main screen is saved as a .png file.
•
Run Log
– at the end of every run, or if a run is stopped, a text (.txt) file is
saved. This files contains optical data, electrical current data, and protocol and
sample information from a run. Run Log data may be viewed in the Log
Review screen (See Section 12).
Protocol Files:
Size selection protocols that have been created, named, and saved by BluePippin
users. These have a .ppprot file extension, and are only recognized by the
BluePippin.
Cassette Files:
Cassette definition files. These are created by Sage Science and not editable by
BluePippin users. These have a .ppcass file extension, and are added to the
BluePippin during manufacture or through software upgrades.
Note.
The BluePippin is equipped with 25 GB of storage. The combined files sizes for the log
files saved for each run is about 150 kb, or a total storage capacity for 166,000 runs.
