12.2 Starting a Run
Important!
The BluePippin should be optically calibrated prior to every run. If this has not been
done, refer to
Chapter 9
for instructions.
1.
If necessary, select the protocol to be run from the “Protocol Name” drop down menu in
the Protocol Status Panel. The last protocol that has been programmed will
automatically be loaded.
See Chapters 7 and 8
for instructions on programming.
2. Load a properly prepared cassette (
Chapter 10)
into the optical nest. Typically, users
will load samples while the cassette is on the nest (see
Chapter 11
). Ensure that
adhesive tape has been placed over the elution wells.
3.
Press “START” on the Control Panel.
4. A pop-up window will appear to remind users that the LED calibration and continuity
tests were not inadvertently skipped. Press “OK” to start the run.
