Cleaning and Adjusting the Printer

Cleaning the Charge Wire

The charge wire requires cleaning
when printouts appear dirty.

Press the printer's power switch
to turn off the power.

Open the front cover and the top
cover.

Note

the paper feed unit (optional)
and the duplex unit (optional),
first open the upper portion of
the duplex unit, and then open
the top cover of the printer.

Raise the green lock levers to a
vertical position.

Hold the inset grip of the photo-
conductor unit, pull it straight up,
and remove it from the printer.

Exposing the photoconductor
unit to light for too long can re-
duce its performance. Clean the
charge wire as quickly as possi-
ble.
