Example of how ‘Motion Exclusion’ can be used:
In a retail setting there is a lot of movement from regular customer footfall. A particularly
valuable item was found missing later in the day. Exclude all areas *except* those around
where the valuable item was. The Activity graph will then be re-calculated to show only the
amount of motion within the remaining area*.
Before areas of the grid are highlighted for exclusion from motion detection data:
After areas of the grid are highlighted for exclusion from motion detection data:

Activity graph from camera channel time line:
The graph shows a lot of motion data (shown
in green), which can be difficult to find motion
relevant to where the valuable item was
located.
Activity graph from camera channel time line:
The time line motion graph will now show
less motion data, allowing the user to search
through recorded data for the moment when
the valuable object disappeared with greater
efficiency.
*Varying motion levels are only displayed and recorded when using selected QVIS cameras. Otherwise the time line
will only show when video was recorded, and not columns depicting different levels of motion.
