Configuring the Telephone

Setting the Font Colour for the Idle Display

You can load an individual background image in the communications system 
that will be used on all connected Forum IPhone 5025/5030/5040 SIP 
system telephones (in the 

Configurator

, 

System > Components

 menu). 

If a rather dark background image is loaded, the text information shown on 
the display may be hard to read. In this case you can change the font colour (in 
the 

Configurator

, 

Telephony > Devices > System phones

 menu). The font 

colours 

blue

 (default), 

white

 and 

black

 are available for selection. 

The modified font colour is used in the telephone’s 

idle mode

 for the display 

area, where the name / call number of the user and date / time are displayed. 
The function keys shown on the display are not changed in any way and still 
appear in their pre-set blue font colour. 

Picture ID Server

The Forum IPhone 5025/5030/5040 SIP system telephones can show a 
picture of the caller on the display (for incoming and outgoing calls). To do so, 
there must be an image of the caller saved on the communications system.

●

Images can be saved on a picture ID server with Forum 525/526, 
Forum 550/560 and Forum 523/524 type communications systems. The 
address of the Picture ID server is configured in the 

Configurator > 

System > Common

 menu). 

●

An alternative to the picture ID server is saving the images to the phone 
book on a Forum 5004/5008/5012 or Forum 5500 type communica-
tions system (

Configurator > Phone book

 menu). A separate image can be 

saved for each phone number in a phone book entry (office call number, 
mobile number, private call number). 

Please consult the communications system online help for information on the 
configuration and file format of the images.
